I must say that what makes these Bags so impressive and unique is that they combine graphic design, illustration, cartooning and fashion in one.

I can’t really tell how they would look in person or how practical they would be, but I just can’t take my eyes off them.

Η προσωπική μου άποψη είναι ότι αυτές οι τσάντες είναι τόσο μοναδικές και εντυπωσιακές επειδή συνδυάζουν τη γραφιστική, την εικονογράφιση, τα καρτούν και τη μόδα σε ένα.

Δεν ξέρω πώς δείχνουν από κοντά ή κατά πόσο είναι πρακτικές, αλλά δεν μπορώ να πάρω τα μάτια μου από πάνω τους.

Sorry for being an awful blogger, but it has been quite a full month.

First, there was The Marriage on 17/02, where I can proudly say that I was "the best woman" and though small and discrete, it was followed by a 2-day hangover (This a skill you know). Have a beautiful life together, dear friends!

Then there was the Mardi Gras weekend, with this dazzling sunset and drinking beers by the see on Saturday 25/02.



And then there was work at work and more work at home, preparing the second book of Mr Black Publications. It is now out hot from the printer.

In the meantime I did some DIY at home. The first is a tutorial I saw in Pinterest:

My results where a little... let's say not symmetrical, but still made a nice container for my ball-lights, by the fireplace.




and the second is a frame inspired by Urban Outfitters

and it was the most fun to make. I think there will be many following.

So if you are interested in making a frame like this the things you will need are:
• An old newspaper
• Scraps of yarn
• Scissors
• Glue or glue-gun (I prefer the glue-gun, because the glue dries faster)
• A ruler
• A pencil or pen
• A frame to use as a base (I used the cheapest one from IKEA).



So, first you have to cut strips from the newspaper measuring 5cm wide and fold them in half lengthwise.
Then twist the folded strips to create a paper twine. You might need to wet your finger tips every now and then to make the twisting easier as they tend to get dry. Try not to overdo it. We don't want the newspaper to soak on water.
After you make your strips (number depends on the size of your frame), cut your yarn in twice the length of each strip and tie it on one end of the strip. Start twisting and tying to create the effect of the pictures (no special tips for this).
After preparing all your paper and yarn strips, glue them carefully on your frame and press them until the glue is dry, otherwise it tends to lose the shape you give them and you won't have good results. This is why I prefer the glue gun.

So, not more to say. Your frame is ready (and cost far less the the original one - sorry urban outfitters!)
Find a nice picture to go with it. I think I will print a black and white one.

Karl Lagerfeld for Metro

Today is the day that our beloved icon and designer Karl Lagerfeld is editing the Metro Newspaper! The newspaper that keeps company to many readers in the world, mostly on their way to work, is out with his touch and point of view and many interesting sketches.

Athens is one of the capitals that are lucky to have it circulating. Unfortunately I am not using the metro (it is far from my work) and I don't know if I will be able to get my hand on one of those babies. The Greek online version is not updated since the 3rd February, but I found the New York one, which I don't mind at all. Anyway, this is what I would read in the subway if I lived in my dream city.

So, make a coffee and enjoy your New York "copy" on my blog (from the metro site and issuu) and if you have any updates about the Greek version or if you can pick up one for me, please do so and let me know!

Σήμερα είναι η μέρα που ο αγαπημένος μας Karl Lagerfeld αναλαμβάνει τη σύνταξη της εφημερίδας Metro! Η εφημερίδα που κρατάει παρέα σε πολλούς αναγνώστες ανά τον κόσμο, κυρίως στο δρόμο για τη δουλειά τους, βρίσκεται σε κυκλοφορία μόνο για σήμερα, με το δικό του άγγιγμα, τη δική του αισθητική και πολλά ενδιαφέροντα σκίτσα του.

Η Αθήνα είναι μία από τις πρωτεύουσες που έχουν την τύχη να συμπεριλαμβάνονται στις χώρες κυκλοφορίας. Δυστυχώς δεν χρησιμοποιώ το μετρό (είναι μακριά από τη δουλειά μου) και δεν ξέρω αν θα μπορέσω να αποκτήσω ένα από τα σημερινά τεύχη. Επίσης η ελληνική online έκδοση έχει να ενημερωθεί από τις 3 Φεβρουαρίου, αλλά βρήκα αυτή της Νέας Υόρκης, η οποία δεν μπορώ να πω ότι με χάλασε. Ούτως ή άλλως αυτή θα διάβαζα αν έμενα σε αυτήν -την πόλη των ονείρων μου- στο δρόμο για τη δουλειά.

Λοιπόν, φτιάξτε ένα καφέ και απολαύστε την εκδοχή της Νέας Υόρκης (από το site της metro και το issue) και αν έχετε νεότερα για το ελληνικό τεύχος ή ακόμα καλύτερα αν μπορείτε να πάρετε ένα και για μένα, ειδοποιήστε με!

Who is Haider Ackermann?

He is the designer who made the biggest impression to me, when I ran through the pages of the S/S 2012 collections of Elle & Vogue UK, so I decided to do some research.

Born 1971 in Colombia, adopted by French parents, raised in Africa and the Middle East and educated in Antwerp, this designer has a star and seems to be taking over the fashion world with a fast pace and it is rumored that Karl Langerfeld said that if he was ever to retire from Chanel, Haider should be the one to replace him.

He gave his first women's collection in Paris for autumn/winter 2002 and since then he keeps on creating very unique sensuous clothes with a gothic-dande touch.

But let's not say more and just enjoy his beautiful clothes.

Ποιός είναι ο Haider Ackermann;

Είναι ο σχεδιατής που μου έκανε την μεγαλύτερη εντύπωση όταν ξεφύλιζα ειδικά τεύχη των Elle και Vogue UK για την Άνοιξη/Καλοκαίρι 2012 και είπα να κάνω μια έρευνα.

Γεννήθηκε το 1971 στην Κολομβία, υιοθετήθηκε από Γάλλους γονείς, μεγάλωσε σε μέρη όπως η Αφρική και η Μέση Ανατολή και πρακολούθησε σπουδές στην Αμβέρσα. Αυτός ο σχεδιαστής έχει αστέρι και δείχνει να καταλαμβάνει με ταχύ βήμα τον κόσμο της μόδας και υπάρχουν φήμες ότι ο Καρλ Λάγκερφελντ είπε ότι αν ποτέ συνταξιοδοτηθεί από τη Chanel, ο Haider είναι αυτός που θα έπρεπε να τον αντικαταστήσει.

Έκανε την πρώτη του επίδειξη στο Παρίσι για το Φθινόπωρο/ Χειμώνα 2002 και από τότε συνεχίζει να δημιουργεί μοναδικού στυλ, αισθησιακά και με δόσεις gothic-dande ρούχα.

Ας μην φλυαρώ άλλο όμως. Θα αφήσω τα ρούχα να μιλήσουν από μόνα τους.

New store in town

We are talking about de.bour., who's opening was last Wednesday. I was there with my friend Tina from Shoelazzo. Nora, the other half of Shoelazzo was also with us (too shy to get a picture from) with her lovely husband.

So, opposite to "En Delfis" in Kolonaki and opposite to "Il postino" you will find this cute little store. Don't let the stairs that you have to go down fear you, because once you go down you will find a very cosy and decorated with taste space, that is enough to host all of Deppy's creations.

From low-priced jewelry, to clothes and handmade bags. I mention the shoes separately, because it is something you don't see so often, specially in such good prices.

Let's not say more. Take a taste from the shop.

Μιλάμε για το de.bour., του οποίου τα εγκαίνια έγιναν την περασμένη Τετάρτη. Εκεί βρέθηκα με την φίλη μου την Τίνα από το Shoelazzo. Μαζί μας ήταν και το έταιρο ήμισυ του Shoelazzo η Νόρα (πολύ ντροπαλή για να κάτσει να την φωτογραφίσω) και ο πολύ περιποιητικός της σύζυγος.

Στον πεζόδρομο του "Εν Δελφοίς" στο Κολωνάκι λοιπόν και απέναντι από το "Il postino", βρίσκεται λοιπόν αυτό το μαγαζάκι. Μην σας πτοήσουν τα σκαλάκια που πρέπει να κατεβείτε για να βρεθείτε μέσα. Ένας μικρός, αλλά ζεστός χώρος, διακοσμημένος με πολύ αγάπη και γούστο είναι αρκετός για να χωρέσει αμέτρητες δημιουργίες από τα χέρια της Deppy για όλα τα γούστα και όλα τα πορτοφόλια.

Από super οικονομικά κοσμήματα, μέχρι ρούχα και τσάντες. Ξεχωριστά αναφέρω τα χειροποίητα παπούτσια μιας και δεν είναι κάτι που το συναντάς τόσο συχνά και με τόσο καλές τιμές.

Δεν χρειάζεται όμως να πω περισσότερα. Πάρτε μια γεύση λοιπόν απο το μαγαζί.
